If you believe that music isn’t much of an ardour any longer but a business, you’re right; and it’s a harsh business at that. However, providentially, there are still record labels that care for new musicians and will strive to facilitate promoting real talent; you just need to take a closer look in between the lines. Manchester’s Longevity Records, founded by Gareth Wandless, Ian Jackson & Rawcuss was formed for a reason and one reason only – to support new music and to give aspiring artists a chance to commence their music careers.
So far, Nine very different, outstanding bands have been signed, otherwise known as; Rawcuss, Vanilla Gorillaz, Route 19, Dresden, House Of Three Hands, Super Eight Cynics, Cold Shoulder, Phantomz and The Harrington Blues; all gaining their well-deserved opportunities for publicity through the work of PR, music videos, reviews, events, interviews and much more, courtesy of Longevity. This small, independent label illustrates just what is missing in today’s major labels; loyalty and dedication.
